Fresh Sewing day
Another month has passed and it's Fresh Sewing Day at http://lilysquilts.blogspot.com/
Just what have I been up to all month??? Lots of starts.....very few finishes...none actually.
My computer died yesterday so luckily I have my handy dandy ipad....who knows when the new computer will actually arrive. Posting is a little more tedious this way but here goes.
If it all comes across a little wonky...in my defense, I spent the day babysitting my sweet, little, 14 month-old granddaughter and her brand new puppy.
I could show you numerous works in progress because starting is what I do best, but I'll just show you one, because for me, putting together a mosaic on the ipad is not quite the same as my regular computer.....in other words I don't know how.
I've been working on these large freehand type circles. I'm using mostly shot cottons and striped wovens by Kaffe Fassett.
I love working with these fabrics and they quilt like a dream. Maybe next month I'll have a few finishes to show you....well one can only hope...

I Just Couldn't Resist
Since I have no patience I just had to quilt this block before I do anything else!
I haven't made anymore decisions on this......so,your guess is as good as mine.

Help...Not Enough Room on the Design Wall
These blocks are multiplying like crazy. The trouble with working with these over sized blocks is there's just not enough room on the design wall.
These blocks come together really quickly....I have nineteen made. What next??? I'm not sure.
I'm using shot cottons by Kaffe Fassett....they are soft with a little give....perfect for curves. I decided to press these seams open, something I haven't done with curved seams before. I find it works really well.
The colours of these fabrics are amazing.
Oops!..... I Did It Again
After a week of fighting a cold and a wonky back.....I did it again....started something new. I've been resisting this bucket of shot cottons for quite a while now. What can I say, my reserve was down.
A wonky back calls for some wonky piecing. How about some improvised, wonky, curved piecing. Nothing to hard about that.
Stack a few fabrics...I used eight.
Go at it with the rotary cutter
I use only one pin....if that.
Who knows what will happen with these. When I play....I like to play with fabric I love
