Life is a Quilt Waiting to Happen
Oh, no, another beautiful block to tease and inspire
Time to tackle a full fledged project, cause it’s looking beautiful as ever!
Wonderful color selections.
I'm working on some "improv" blocks and wanted to insert some narrow "slivers" into the blocks - but slicing the block, inserting a narrow strip, then pressing everything is a huge pain. The blocks are NOT wanting to lay flat because of all the seams on the reverse.Maybe this is the solution that I'm looking for - I've ordered the book and will report back! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! (BTW, the circle in your previous post is SO cool!)
This looks like a lot of fun - I am hoping you will be starting a new project soon.
Love these slivers ideas. Checked out your post yesterday, checked out the book and then I snuck into my sewing room and slivered around for a bit unsupervised. I'm now a bit of a slivery woman, myself ;)
Another beautiful block. What an inspiration you are. Now I have to get the book!
I love the 'play' between the yellow and the stripes! Your quilting is a wonderful choice to bring the eye around the piece.
love this block, and it's a perfect way to use up slivers.
I sure can see this in a full quilt! Fabulous! Must look for the book as well!
i love how you put all the colors and patterns together. you make it look so simple.
I have been reading and enjoying your blog for a while. Your use of color and pattern in fabric as well as your techniques are fabulous. I wish you could get a commission on this new book as one more was sold last night after I read your entry and after I realized your site is the only one showing a little bit of the process. Not even the author shows anything about it on her site: What a shame! I am doing the BOM for my guild this year and I chose the folded fabric theme (3 dimensional) and this new twist fits right in. Thanks again.Annickannick5424 at gmail dot com
Thanks so much.
It looks like you're ready for the "big" project with slivers. Love the look of this play block!
So wonderful!!!!!! Love your colors and reminda me of my class w Gwen last week. So glad I found your blog! Em at http://mcelebratea.blogspot.com
Because of this awesome piece, I downloaded the book from Google Books for around $9-$10.00 (great deal). One thing about Google books though, you cant download them to your computer, but can to a device or read online. (not afilitated--I wish!)Anyway. This book IS awesome. Thanks for showing us how you used the sliver technique. I need to get some colourshot fabric...
It is a wonderful book...enjoy.
