Block Ten

A little piecing....after all, I just  had to try out my new die, for the Go Cutter... the smaller size drunkards path.

These are a little more finicky to piece than the larger size, but I thought the quilt could use a few smaller circles
A little more piecing...
A little applique...
 A little quilting...
A little more applique....
And there you have it...block ten of the Oakshott Project.
 A little playing around.....
Hmm, should I or shouldn't I add a few stripes??

We'll see...

  3. I agree with Jenny. I like the freeform stripes you add much better.

  4. Those stripes are great, but I'll leave it to you to decide if they work with this project or not.

  11. I ADORE the way you are using the pieced circles in such an unconventional way. Brilliant! You simply rock every quilt that you design!

  12. Love the different scale for the last circle. You have such good design instincts. As for the stripes? They are regularly spaced and differ quite a bit from the free form piecing of the rest of the squares, but if you do use them, something tells me you'll figure out how to make them wonderful.

Now for a question. Do you like your Go Cutter? Use it a lot? It's on my "Should I buy this or not" list.

    Hugs.

    1. Thanks Diane...I'm not sure about the stripes yet either.

Regarding the Go Cutter, I do like using it, but because I do a fair amount of improv work I probably don't use it as much as some quilters do. I've been slowly collecting the dies so it is nice to have them available if I need them. It's great if you like doing rag quilts because it clips the blocks before you piece them. It's wonderful for quarter circles or triangles etc.

I think it depends on what type of quilting you do....I hope that helps.

  13. Are the striped fabrics from Oakshott too? I did not see them on their website.

    1. These stripes are by Kaffe Fassett, but Oakshott does also have stripes. I just happened to have these particular ones on hand. Did I mention I have a huge stash!!
