Scraps With A Purpose

I've been busy creating some scraps with a purpose.....
I have ideas for these scraps, so I'm purposely creating larger ones than necessary.

Meanwhile this seems to be morphing into one giant, wonky hexagon.

Often, as I'm working on one quilt....ideas for a next one start formulating.
It's almost like one quilt spawns another...does this happen to you?

  1. That giant wonky hexagon is sure looking wonderful!

  2. This happens to me, too. I really like the energy in your stripes!

  3. I absolutely LOVE this quilt!!! What a great idea to make it hexagon!!

  4. Woah!! That is GORGEOUS!

  5. OP ART with strips!! These are super -- and very modern. Love 'em.

  6. I really like your combinations of scraps into larger units. Cool idea. Sometimes I'll make the back of a quilt like your large wonky creation...and then I'll feel like I need to make it into a top instead. And of course, one quilt spawns another!

  7. Hi again--LUV this giant wonky hexagon--Julierose

  8. LOVE your design, and your colors!
I think I can relate to being inspired by the process of making a quilt to designing another. The possibilities are endless. Just go with the flow...

    ; )

  9. Am I correct in seeing your scraps are pieced into sandwiches as you go? I really like the new look of your blod, so crisp and clean....

  12. Hi you are set at no-reply so I'll answer here. The scraps are being cut off of a QAYG project so they are already quilted. Thanks...I'm glad you like the look of the blog

  13. That is absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing!

  14. Beautiful! Love the "recycling" of scraps. I've never done the QAYG and I'm not quite sure how it works. I guess I need a class. So happy to have found your blog. Thanks for sharing!

  15. This is really beautiful! Reminds me of a crazy quilt patch! I love it!

  16. Your web site is unbelievably great. I love everything you show and especially your work with scraps of fabrics. After 12 years of quilting, I was feeling a little over whelmed with the boxes of scraps that I have kept. Your work has given me a courage to try some of your ideas. Thanks from the bottom of my quilting heart.

    1. Thanks so much Liz....have fun with your scraps
